We stand for the silent defiance of myriads of alienated characters lost in society, who feel violated by the mainstream, molested by the intolerance of their environment, whose calling and meaning were never afforded them by the system entrusted with their enrichment, care and interest - the world that failed, breeding an estranged generation that knows the price of everything and the value of nothing; that gave a voice to everybody and in doing so took it from those who had something to say.
We stand for creativity, and poetry, and philosophy, and the unfathomable value to these discarded victims of their revoked right to say to every aggressor, every bigot, every dogmatic, and every silent witness: “I believe in the power of good. I believe in the state of love. I will fight for the right to be right. I will kill for the good of the fight for the right to be right.”
Social commentary and social liberation are at the heart of our agenda. It is alive in our lyrics, and born from our interests. We aim to bloody culture's nose... to subvert the mainstream, and boycott the corrosive elements of our junk market culture, far too happy feeding millions their medicine to nobody's benefit. Like never before has such a peaceful and beautiful thing such as sex been waved so lasciviously as a badge of belonging, nor so threateningly like a weapon. With music we, as a culture, a generation, an uprising, will turn that weapon on our dogmatic society, and take back our voice.
With self-assured defiance we stand against the same dumb fucks asking the same dumb questions, leading the same dumb lives with the same dumb people, never challenging their own thoughts, let alone ever understanding anybody else’s. That is the true point of rock and roll. The crux of it all. It’s not about being right. It’s not about saying something outrageous just to upset people, or because it’s supposed to be the correct thought, or because it’s cool. It’s about challenging people. Challenging systems. Challenging society to challenge itself, or it is dead. Truly dead. Without challenge, not a single principle has a reason to exist. We are not the hero until we have defeated the villain. We cannot go to war with an unidentified enemy. To filter we must confront. Only that way can anything grow, or can anyone learn. This is what makes music so powerful. It is the universal microchip; accessible to everyone; powerful in the right hands – useless and wasted in the wrong ones. But it needs fuel, and power, and direction.

Most bands and their following aren’t even remotely aware of the miracle drug they are waste on hedonistic posturing. We are not those bands. We are The Starling Radicals. Our name is a symbol of liberation through artistry and creation. Our themes are defiance and resistance, the majesty of idealism and the devastating flaws in everything human, and the resonant sadness therein. The point is that no matter how trivial or frivolous my cares or interests or ambitions might seem to others, they are all that can save me from absurdity.
